Way to prevent downloading all cases assigned to location to mobile device?

We have a rather large number of cases (about 7,500) that are assigned to a
location (our field staff advisors). Our advisors mobile user accounts have
been assigned to the location and when they first load the application, it
downloads all 7,500 cases to the mobile device. This makes loading and
completing the surveys incredibly slow. Is there a way to allow only a
subset of cases to load to the mobile device?

Child locations (the field staff themselves) don't have this issue because
they are only loading about 500 cases to the phone which makes things more
manageable. Any thoughts?

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Users assigned to a case sharing group or location will always download all
of the cases owned by that group. Probably the easiest way to achieve what
you want is to have the field staff advisers themselves use accounts
assigned to the child locations.

Cheers,
Will

Kevin,

Are your performance problems only on the first download/sync of the data
or are you encountering issues in loading the lists of cases after users
have logged in/synced?

Both the first sync as well as loading forms. Particularly loading forms
that have cases as options in multiple choice or multiple select type
questions.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the followup question offline, and glad we could resolve the
form level questions.

As I mentioned, we have some core improvements on the horizon to the
initial sync question you had, please do reach out if you have any
followups.
