Viewing Images Uploaded in Surveys

Is there an easy way to view all images uploaded to a given survey form?
The only way I am aware of is to look at each individual case under the
attachments tab. Is there another way where I could view all the images at
the same time or in the same list?

Thanks,
Kevan

Hi Kevan,

You can also do a data export to Excel of the survey form. The export will
contain a link to the image that you can then download. If you have a bit
of programming expertise, you can write a quick program that will
automatically download each of these images.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way (at the moment) to download all of the
images at once.

Thanks,
Sheel

Hi Kevan

Regarding viewing all images in the app together, you can try the following:

  1. Open your app in CommCareHQ. On the left pane, below Deploy, etc
you'll see 'Multimedia'. Click on that. It would open "Manage Multimedia"
    page.
  2. Click on the blue button which says "Multimedia Reference Checker".
  3. This would show you the list of all the multimedia (images, audio,
video, etc) that your app has in one page.

Thanks!
Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

Thank you for the reply. To clarify, should this work for multimedia that
is submitted by mobile workers as part of a form response, or only for
multimedia that is installed to display in the actual form itself?

Thanks,
Kevan

Hi Kevan

Multimedia Manager would show only the images installed in the app, not
ones uploaded by users in response to image questions. To access those, you
need to follow the method that Sheel suggested about exporting to excel.

Thanks!

Hi All,
Just dropping a note that someone would be interested in being able to get
easy/easier access to images that are colllected via forms. Not sure how
this could be made workable (maybe zip file with multimedia names
corresponding form ID?), but I'll mention the desired outcome. I've got
some folks looking to use commcare to collect info from various training
sites (number of trained, GIS, etc), and they'll be taking that info and
pushing into google maps. They've got the app set up to collect an image
of each place, so they were hoping to be able to grab all those at once
when they export. There's no money/interest to build anything custom for
this.
:)Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks for writing in, that does sound like a good idea! We have a similar
highly-voted idea posted on UV here:
http://dimagi.uservoice.com/forums/194740-data/suggestions/3859978-have-photo-questions-be-exported-as-jpeg-attachmen

Or, if you have a different idea, feel free to post that too!

Thanks,
Amelia
