Variable meaning for key

Hi Everyone, I am creating a key for the variables in a application on
Commcare. However, I have come across a variable '_rev', which is a
character variable. This is an e.g.
" 9-f141043bc63e7242b34aba72131ff632 ". Can someone please tell me what
this means - like a description of this variable.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply Will.

Sorry, by 'variable' I meant one of the columns in my data i.e. when I
export my application data into excel, '_rev' is one of the column names,
and it has nothing to do with our study. So, I think it is a Commcare
related variable/attribute.

I am attaching a screenshot of the exported excel sheet, with the above
mentioned column highlighted.

Thank for the help again,
Akhil

Akhil,

Can you clarify what you mean by "variable" and where you're seeing that
key, possibly by providing screenshots?

Cheers,
Will

Hi Akhil,

That is a change that one of our processes uses internally to track changes
to the export document. I don't think it has any semantic meaning in the
context of your data export so can be ignored.
