User Interface Auto fill translations- not working / Need French UI translations

Hello!

Problem:
I don't have a French person to provide the user interface translations
quickly enough. And it does not work to get suggested French translations
with the Auto Fill Translations button. I get no suggested translations
after pushing the buttom.

Goal: I'd like to deploy our application with the French translations for
the application User Interface (UI) using the "Auto fill translations"
button or by uploading an excel with all French UI translations someone
else already developed.

Question:

  • Can anyone share their User Interface French translations for
    Androids?
  • How can I get suggested French translations to Auto Fill under User
Interface translations? Below is what I've tried so far, what can I do
differently for the Auto fill translations button to actually provide
    suggested French translations?

What I've tried until now:

  • Under languages I have added “fra”, set it as default, and made sure
    it was the deployed language.
  • Under “CommCare Translations” I go to “CommCare ODK translations” to
get the key to put into the left-hand side (e.g. “
    install.problem.unexpected”).
  • I press “Auto fill translations” but nothing happens. I have tried the
most basic 'keys' (e.g. keys related to log-in username and password [
login.username]). But no key seems to have a translation to auto fill
into French. The auto fill function doesn’t show any options even after
    waiting and re-clicking.
  • I have visited these pages for help:
··· - https://github.com/dimagi/commcare-odk/blob/master/app/assets/locales/messages_ccodk_default.txt - https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/User+Interface+Translations

Thank you so much for the help!

Hello, Ricardo,

One thing which is sometimes tricky is that you also have to be viewing the
application in French when you push the auto fill translation button.

Can you confirm that French is selected in the language dropdown when you
are pushing the auto fill button?

Hi Ricardo,

In addition, please note that there was a bug affecting the auto fill
functionality that was just fixed now. Can you please try to auto-fill
again? (Note that you don't have to enter any keys of the translations -
the autofill will put the keys for you).

Thanks,
Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

I think something you just did might have been the answer because I had
previously done everything the same way and it wasn't working. Thank you
for fixing the bug affecting the auto fill functionality.

Best,
