Updating the existing application

Hi all,

I would like to make some modification to my commcare application which is
being used by around 12-15 front line workers on their tablets for case
management of women participating in different activities. Therefore is
there a simple way by using which I can upgrade the existing commcare
application on each of the tablet without losing existing data stored on
the tablet.

Kind regards,
Raheel

Hi Raheel,

Please also see this short video (available on the Dimagi youtube channel)
showing you how to update your app.

As Lauren said, you will need to star your build on CommCare HQ before
updating the app from your device.
Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Raheel,

Yes, you can most definitely update the app version without having to
clear the data already collected. It is a simple process of starring the
build version of the app that you want to update to on HQ and then
selecting 'update commcare' from the CommCare menu settings on the tablet.

Keep in mind that the tablets will need a mobile data or wifi connection
to be able to update remotely.
