Unique auto generated values!

Hi everyone,

Is it possible in Commcare to generate an auto unique value like in any
relational database ?

Thanks,

Hey Hasan,

Every form and case is automatically assigned a globally unique identifier
(form ID and case ID). Is that what you're looking for?

thanks,
Cory

Hey Cory

I have a case management tracking application for a health care system, i
have therapists who visit my clients and uses commcare to register a new
case and also to keep a track for treatments for those clients.
i have a registration form which include all the information regarding this
client ,i want to ( if its possible ) generate a unique number or id in
this form ,i want to assign it in my other form which is "Treatment".
so far those ID's are being made manually, and this is creating confusion
between my workers.

Thank you,
Hasan

Hi Hasan,

You can use the User Case Management feature to create a counter for each
mobile worker that increments with every new case registration. Combining
this number with a unique ID assigned to the mobile worker will give you a
unique ID for each case.

User Case Management is available on the Standard plan or higher. To learn
more, see our help site documentation
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/User+Case.

Thanks,
Amelia
