Text before training

Hello all,

I wanted to share a potentially useful insight, perhaps others have tried
similar techniques. I recently gave a CommCare introduction to a group of
about 15 chws to start a group discussion. Out of these 15, we are hoping to
enroll 10 in a pilot. After collecting all the chw's names and mobile
numbers (13/15 had personal mobiles), I sent an SMS to each thanking them
for their participation and asking how they liked the program. In response I
received a phone call and 3 sms from what seem to be the most responsive and
technically capable of the group, clear candidates for enrollment and
potential team leaders during training sessions. Also, team leaders seem to
work well in training sessions, even in small groups.

Best from Banaras,
Derek

Thanks Derek. I think this is a great trick to add to our list-a good way
to identify CHWs who are more eager and mobile savvy. -n
