Slow case list loading

I have several modules in an application that each have a case list of
about 350 cases. I've set up the list view to show 4 case properties. When
navigating to the modules, it sometimes takes a while for the case list to
load. Mobile workers using this application will be conducting many short
surveys quickly, and a lag time in the case list loading could slow them
down a lot.

Is there anything about the setup that is likely to slow down the loading
of the case list, or anything that could be changed to try to make it
faster? Is the number of cases what is likely causing the loading to stall?

Hi, Kevan,

Which type of device are you using- Android or J2ME/Feature Phone? 350
sounds like it should be reasonably supported by Android, but could be a
lot for a feature phone. It could, I believe, also vary depending upon the
quality of the phone/tablet.

Do you have any special filters on the case list?

Jeremy

We are using Android on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet. There is a case
property that updates to indicate when a form for a particular case has
been completed and that is shown on the case list, and we are sorting the
list by name, but other than that there are no special filters.

Thanks,
Kevan

Thanks, Kevan - that's a good device and in general it shouldn't take very
long for the case list to load. Exactly how long does it take for the case
list to load? We are looking into the performance of the case list so it
would be useful to know.

Thanks Jeremy. It seems to vary a lot but sometimes it can take a minute or
so to load and in a few cases it has just kept spinning and seemed to hang.

Hi again, Kevan,

Can you "report an issue" from your project space so that we can take a
closer look? (at the bottom of any page in your project)

Thanks,

Jeremy
