Simple lookup table - appropriate functionality and specific next step questions

I am trying to create a straightforward question using a (multi language)
look up table. I have followed the online instructions and my table is
attached. I would like ALL users to be able to select a District # (1-12),
then a block # (the numbers will depend on which district they select but
for simplicities sake, 1-24).

  1. is this possible through a look up table? I have attached the start of
the excel sheet to do this and read this information page
Creating and Updating Lookup Tables - CommCare Public - CommCare Public
  • the problem directions aren't entirely clear as to what lookup tables
actually look like on a mobile device. It shows screenshots from the back
end but not a mobile UX perspective.
  • I also don't understand how to make one sheet in excel dependent on the
other. How do I make what number of blocks are available to select
dependent on which district is chosen?

Thanks for any input or assistance! We are currently in the middle of
implementing a pilot using CommCare to monitor response to feedback that
our community mobilizers and other staff receive from refugees in Za'atari
camp in Jordan.

Grace,

That's definitely possible with look up tables and exactly what the multiple
choice lookup table
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Form+Builder#FormBuilder-2.MultipleChoiceQuestions
question
type was designed for. Once you create that question type you will be able
to select the fixture, label (display text), and value to populate the
question with. In terms of UI appearance, see attached image for a very
basic example of a multiple choice.

Making one list's options dependent on the answer to another is slightly
trickier, but this wiki
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Setup+a+Question+with+Filtered+Choices
should
walk you through the steps you need to take.

Cheers,
Will
