Separate media files for multiple languages

Hi,

I have a form that has 2 languages. We would like to use different media
files for the different languages. (ie. for the same question, we would
have 2 different audio files for the two different languages. Similarly, we
would like to have 2 different image files for the two different languages,
since they contain text in the respective languages)

I don't seem to be able to upload two separate files. When I upload the
first media file, it associates that file with both languages. If I try to
replace the media file for the second language, both files are replaced,
rather than just the file associated with the second language.

Does this question make sense? Is there a way to use different media files
for the same question in a form, but different languages?

Thank you,
Robin

Robin,

Thank you for the report - I was able to reproduce this bug and have
reported it to our form builder team to look into. I'll ping this thread
again when we've released a fix. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Cheers,
Will

Hey Robin,

Discussed this with our development team - unfortunately this is currently
a platform limitation that we'll try to resource in the future. For the
time being, you can achieve the desired behavior using multimedia upload
and the "Advanced Path" buttons on the form media tab as described here
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Multimedia+Manager#MultimediaManager-STEP1:Addingamultimediareference
.

Cheers,
Will

Hi Will, I tried this out with the images and it seems to have worked,
using the Advanced Paths as you suggested.

Thanks!
Robin

Hi Will,

Coming back to this 6 months later, and for some reason I am unable to edit
the path names, to allow for different images for different languages.
Previously, I was able to upload two different images, and type (and save)
the filename/path in as I desired.

Now, if I try to edit the filename, it seems to allow me to upload two
different images, but automatically overwrites the path name. Is there a
way to save the filename/path as what I manually type in?

Is there a trick I am forgetting?

Thanks,
Robin

PS I guess it's not a huge issue - I do still seem able to upload different
images, for different languages. However, I would like to rename the file
path names, so they reflect the image file names for easier future
