Sending forms to SD card on Nexus 7

Hello,

I am running into an issue saving files to a SD card on Nexus 7. I’ve
purchased a reader, but it doesn’t seem to work. While the Nexus will
recognize the SD card using Nexus Media Importer, Commcare won’t save to it
– it says there is no SD card. Any insights on a possible solution?

Thanks,

Kira

Kira,

Unfortunately I don't think that this is something CommCare ODK is
currently configured for - the process explicitly requires an external SD
card to be mounted and I haven't experimented with external SD readers
enough to know the Android OS handles them. This is something we could
potentially look at in future releases, but for now I'd assume that the SD
card dump process will only work with phones that have an external SD slot.

Best,
Will

Hi Will,

Thanks for your response. Do you know if there was a way to perform the data dump if the tablet could be connected directly to the computer? We are trying to find a way to save and back up data as the tablets will be collecting data in areas without internet for up to 10 days.

Thanks,

Kira

Kira,

Unfortunately I don't believe there's any workflow that will meet your
requisites. You could suggest this feature on user
voicehttp://dimagi.uservoice.com/and we will look into adding it to
the development pipeline.

Best,
Will
