Remove repeat groups added by mistake

I feel like there's an obvious answer to this that I'm missing, but someone
asked me today how to remove a repeat group they have added in CommCare on
Android (no set repeat count) if they added it by mistake.

I did a few tests to see if I could work this out and searched the help and
this group but was unable to come up with an answer. Even in incomplete
forms or saved forms there doesn't seem to be the ability to do this.

I saw a very old reference that implies this was once possible - does
anyone know how?

Thanks as always for your assistance.

Cheers,
Amber.

Hi Amber,

This should be possible using Edit Form Submissions
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Edit+Form+Submissions
.

Thanks William. The question was about whether these could be removed in
CommCare for Android. Once the questions in the repeat group are complete,
which they have to be even if you add it by mistake or you can't finish the
form, how can the person monitoring the data know that it was added by
mistake?

That would make the only solution abandoning the form and starting over?

Cheers,
Amber

Hi Amber,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Unfortunately there isn't really a way to undo the creation of a repeat on
the Android mobile client, due to the complexity of resolving any odd
ambiguities introduced from the data changing out from under the form.

Instead we recommend that forms with repeats that need to be cancellable
provide a quick checkbox question to allow the user to cancel (or uncancel)
the creation of a group

Sorry for any confusion on that point.

You can see an example of what I mean in the link on confluence. In that
example the question that "deletes" the repeat is simply a Checkboxes
question in the HQ Form Builder which doesn't have anything entered as the
"question" text, and has a single checkbox item which has the message about
removing the repeat grop.
