Re-assign Case to different Group or User

Hi

We assign ownerID on case creation.

Can we assign it through a form?

An example would be helpful.

Hi Tim,

Yup this is possible. This page (
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Assigning+cases+to+one+of+multiple+groups)
discusses how to save the case property called owner_id from a case
creation form. You can also do the same thing from any other form that
updates the case. Just save the case property called owner_id.

Thanks for this.

I had tried this and thought it had failed.

I have gone back through the forms and they are ok.

My error was thrown by the need for the case owner needing to log out and
then log in again in order to have the case list refreshed rather than just
syncing the cases.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for noting that issue. You should be able to hit the Sync button
once in CommCare Android to get the re-assigned cases to appear (and be
removed from the other user). Please report an issue if this doesn't
work.
