Question about "Auto Update App"

Hi all --

Here is a question related to the "Auto Update" feature.

About 3 weeks ago, I set the configuration on my apps to be "Auto Update
Frequency: Weekly." But since that time, I have not starred any new
releases and nobody has chosen "Update App" in their phones.

Next week, I will star a new release.

Tell me: Do you think that all the user's phones will already be noticing
the "auto update" setting and will start to update themselves throughout
the week? OR, do I need to have the users do one final manual "update
app" command in order for the phone to recognize the new "auto update"
setting, and thus start doing auto updates?

Thanks!

Eric

Eric,

As you've guessed, the "Auto Update" setting in CommCare HQ's settings page
is indeed a mobile setting, not a server setting. That means that if you
have changed it from "never" to "weekly" the users will indeed have to do
one final manual update to receive the newest version of your app.

There is also setting in the mobile also. If the server setting of Auto update is different from the setting of Auto update in Server, then what is the result i,e whcih one will take precedence
