QR Code scanning not working well on Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+

We're having severe issues with QR Code scanning on Android Galaxy Tab 9+ - we've tested a number of tablets and all seem to have the same issue.

OS version is up to date:
Model: SM-X216B
OS version: 14
SDK version: 34
Security Patch: 2025-02-01

Other tablets we've tested appear to work fine. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks!

Hello Ed,

Thanks for sharing the information. My name is Shiv and I am an analyst at CommCare support team. I wanted to check if you are facing this issue on CommCare application while using it on Samsung Galaxy Tab 9+ or with all kind of applications which scans QR codes.
We haven't got any support requests regarding this issue till now. However, QR code scanning issues can sometimes be related to the camera quality, lighting conditions, or an error in the QR code being. It might be helpful to try different QR code scanning apps and multiple QR codes to see if the issue persists across all of them. If yes, then this can be a device issue and you can consider reaching out to Samsung Support in that scenario. In case this issue only exists on CommCare mobile application, feel free to raise a request at support@dimagi.com

Let me know if you need any further help from my side in this regard.

Best,
Shiv

Hi Shiv, we have had some time to troubleshoot and it appears these tablets don't do well with smaller format QR codes. We've increased the size to around 1.6cm x 1.6cm and are getting more consistent results. Thanks for following up.
