Qn on unregistered users on CCHQ 1.0

Hi guys,

When assigning the CHWs with username and password for the first time on the
phones. Normally the phone sends that information to the CCHQ server. Which
I assume is the registration of the end users. My assumption is that anyone
who is submitting data on CCHQ 1.0 is automatically registered.

So is it possible to end up with unregistered users on CCHQ 1.0?

Gayo

Hi Gayo,

I think it's rare but it's possible. For example, if the registration form
was created when there was no data service available and for some reason was
never successfully submitted to the server. Also, I believe there is a mode
of CC for low literacy that currently bypasses the user models entirely.
Also, migrated data can have this problem.

If you do see frequent instances of this happening when you think it
shouldn't be, please get in touch with the CC/CCHQ teams and we'll take a
look for you.

thanks,
Cory

Gayo,

The current process for CommCare apps is to create a registration payload on
the phone, and to send it to the sever in the send-all-unsent queue if
service isn't available, and that packet should ~always be the first off the
phone, so the "unregistered users" use case should be very, very unlikely if
the phone are running CommCare 1.1.n or above and using HQ 1.0. There are
some very strange edge cases which could result in unexpected behavior, but
if you encounter them please let us know so we can correct them in the
future.
