It's Kai here, from Dimagi, and I'm excited to share with you all the Q2 2026 Product Updates!
This quarter has been about giving app builders more control and less friction. Here's what's new, and why it matters:
Locked Admin Questions: App builders can now lock specific questions and groups in the Form Builder so they can't be edited, moved, or deleted by users without permission, so your critical form logic and case mappings stay protected no matter how many hands are in the app.
Advanced Case Actions on Advanced+: A single form can now create, update, index, or close related cases, alongside a redesigned case management configuration, so managing complex case relationships requires less forms and fewer workarounds.
Case API v2: New "fields" and "exclude" parameters let you trim API responses down to exactly the data you need, so your integrations run faster and your payloads stay lean.
CommCare Mobile 2.63: Improved form entry reliability and stability during case loading so your field workers experience fewer hiccups in the field.
Smaller updates: Editing form details without leaving the Form Builder, tightened SSO API key requirements, and simpler API rate limiting all add up to a smoother day-to-day workflow.
As we move through the middle of 2026, these updates lay the groundwork for more control, cleaner integrations, and a smoother day-to-day experience for your teams. Keep an eye out for more exciting updates coming later this year!
