Possible to back up (offline) mobile data collected on mobile devices

We have field staff collecting large data sets without connectivity in the field for extended periods. Is it possible to make a backup of the data collected daily to mitigate the risk of lost or stolen devices between sync opportunities? Sometimes they are far from a data centers and can't sync daily.

I was thinking PC via USB or bluetooth connectivity or OTG flash drive (or anything else suitable)

As far as my knowledge of CommCare goes, this is not possible and the data will be stored only on the devices until synced. This is the reason we always recommend our team to sync their data often, even if it is from their personal WiFi at home to avoid loss of work.
