Open cases displayed on mobile device

Hi all,

How long are open cases supposed to be displayed on the mobile device case
list? Is it for an indefinite amount of time until the case is closed? Or
is there a configurable or set time period in which a case must be updated
for it to stay visible on the mobile device case list? Thanks for your help.

Tania

Hey Tania,

The case will be displayed indefinitely (its not yet configurable). For
these situations, we typically recommend that you use data exports to
identify stale/old cases and then manually close them (using our website or
an app) or use our bulk case importer to close them.

You can setup a case list filter to hide cases from the mobile device case
list, but the cases will still be open and be downloaded to the user's
phone when they sync. Those filtered out cases will also appear in worker
monitoring reports if you are using them.

Hey Sheel,

Super helpful info and was my gut instinct. We're having a different
problem where a case should be displayed on the mobile device but is not.
We've confirmed the assignment of the owner is correct, and that the case
is still open, but are not sure what else could be the culprit. Any
suggestions?

Hey Tania,

Does the case appear when you use the Case List report and that username?
You can also check if the user is assigned to the case sharing group (if
you're using case sharing). If the case does appear in the case list
report, then it might be syncing issue with your device. You can try
syncing the phone and it should appear.

If none of that works, feel free to Report an issue from the project,
including details of the username this is not working for, and the case
that should appear and we can try figure it out.
