Ofline Updating of Forms

Hi All,

I wanted t find out if it is possible to update an application offline. I
have a number of users in remote areas and I am using Wi-Fi Direct to
collect the data. I was wondering if there is a way to update the apps in a
similar way. Could using the offline installer work? How does the offline
installer affect exisitng data?

Kind regards,

Sam

The offline installer doesn’t affect data.
You can do the following :

  • Download the app for offline install on a computer
  • Plug each phones to the computer and load the app to the phone
  • Use offline intall for each phone

The only thing needed for this to work is the presence of a file manager
installed on the phone. But chances are that your has one.

Hey Sam, this is possible! If you go to the normal app update screen and
select the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner, you will see the option
"Offline Update". When you select that, you will be brought to a screen
with the same UI as for selecting a file for offline install, and you can
proceed as you would for that to select the proper .ccz file.
