We need to pull forms (and associated photos) off devices in a completely offline setting (no wifi or mobile) and were hoping there might be some kind of functionality to either transfer via wifi if that functionality still exists, or better yet by mounting our tablets as drives and transferring via a wired connection.
A long time ago I heard about something for disconnected environments where one phone can act as a data server of sorts and others can sync to it. but not entirely sure if it was CommCare
If the devices are completely offline, go with the wired option if CommCare still allows access to the stored files that way. It would be much more reliable than relying on wifi Direct, especially when you need to move both the forms and the photos. If direct file access isn’t supported, the SD card method may still be the simplest workaround.
It would be worth checking the current CommCare documentation for the supported offline export options, since the older wifi Direct method may have changed.
