Nokia C3

Hey all,

Has anyone tried using Commcare on the Nokia
C3http://www.umnet.com/phone/3196-Nokia_C3
?

It seem to have to have the same specs as the usual C2 etc, but has a
qwerty keyboard. I just ask as there's a few specials for it on here!

Cheers, Kieran

I tried to install the application that was build for Nokia 2700c into Nokia
X2 which has qwerty keyboard. My experience was the keys didn't function
properly. You could press a certain button the return would be completely a
different.

I did email dimagi and clayton replied with the email bellow but I haven't
tried the trick yet;-

Sorry about the difficulties! S40 Qwerty phones do require a different build
currently in order to function correctly, and HQ doesn't allow you to
specify between the number of phones builds which are available (although we
are currently making the builds).

Danny's going to push multiple build support up into the next dev milestone,
which is the February period. In the mean time, I believe if you go to the
application settings in commcarehq and set "text input" to "Native
(International)" I think it should be functional for the X2-01 (although
somewhat burdensome for entering text). Let me know if that's not the case.

Kieran,

Implementing support for multiple builds is on the roadmap for HQ this
month, which should allow you to build for QWERTY keyboards on S40 phones
with direct input. In the mean time, the trick I mentioned to Gayo might
make it functional.
