Multiple parent relationship

Hi all,

we are currently developing an application which should register savings
group members to their respective savings groups; where the savings group
is the parent and the member the child. we are interested to add data from
both sides and link cases with one another.
Some of our members are participating in more than one savings group.
However, as far as we can tell we can only define a singular relationship
using parent_id. Is there a way to add another parent to that?

can you define something like a parent_id2, parent_id3 ... ? is there a
another way to do it?

or is it completely impossible to have more than one parent per child?

thanks for your support,

robert

Hey Robert,

This is possible using an experimental feature that is only available on an
advanced plan. If you'd like to explore that option feel free to follow up
directly with me.

best,
Cory

Hi Robert,

This feature that you have requested is available as part of our
experimental / advanced features. However, please note that these features
require a higher level of support, which is only available on the CommCare
Advanced Software plan. For more information on software plans, you can
visit this page: CommCare Pricing

Hi cory,

I am sorry for the delayed response. We had some issues with prolonging our
pro-bono subscription. we are now on the standard plan plus two way
messaging and data management.

is this still sufficient to do your proposed option? if not, what feature
is needed to do so?

Hi Kishan,

Thanks for your response.

I am aware that these undertakings might require some more engagement from
our side. As I had described earlier we are on a pro-bono subscription for
a standard plan and two additional features from the pro plan. If you look
at the overview you send me you can see that these features are not within
the pricing /software plan; see: CommCare Pricing
again, I would be glad if you could tell me what exact feature would be
needed for this particular undertaking so that I could maybe motivate an
upgrade or revise our digital strategy with dimagi.

Hello Rob,

Sorry for being unclear in my earlier post. I was referring to the higher
level of support that you get for the above request, which is part of the
Advanced Software plan, and it is not a specific feature that you can
request on a pro-bono plan.

Best,
Kishan

Hi,

I'd like to use the multiple parent feature on a local instance. Could you tell me what's the name of the feature flag?

Thanks,

#IT4LIFE

Should be this one i think https://github.com/dimagi/commcare-hq/blob/master/corehq/toggles.py#L487-L492

Thanks Cory. Can this be turned on via the web interface? I can't find it...
