Max no of rows in a lookup table

Hi, I'm loading communes in Madagascar into a lookup table. How many rows
can commcare cope with? There are around 25,000 villages. Should I create
smaller look up tables?

thanks Nicola

Hi Nicola,

Performance with lookup tables can vary greatly depending on the power of
the Android device being used so its usually worth testing with one of your
own devices to get a sense of performance. However, 25,000 rows seems very
high so I'd definitely recommend breaking them up into smaller groups
assigned to users based on their location if possible. This will make user
restores and form entry using the tables faster.

Cheers,
Will

Hi, I have 1,400 rows in my communes for Madagascar look up table. When one
of the users was entering some info today, the device 'hung' and then
skipped to the next question. Do you think this could be because its too
many rows? The user was using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A which is Android 5.1
Lolllipop.

thanks Nicola

Am just working on the same thing and would like to know how. As i have
about 344 villages. everything set well in lookup table. Districts and
wards filters perfect, villages dont filter at all. what could be the
problem, is it number of rows for the villages or?

thanx

Hello,

Its hard to say - could you send pictures of your lookup-table
configuration and the select question?

Cheers,
Will

Hello,

Could you please also include a screenshot of the configuration of the
select question that is not properly filtering?

Cheers,
Will

Hi Will,

I am trying to follow the example from CommCare help site to split my lookup table. But I can understand how the steps were laid out. Could you help in anyway?
