Logging now sending weekly by default

Hi CommCare Users,

We've been hearing from a number of you that it would be great to be able to
see reports off of your device logs. This can help catch errors that
otherwise can pass silently for a long time before anyone notices.
Unfortunately, up until now, the default has been for logs never to be sent
to our server. Starting today we will be changing this. If you have never
set the "Weekly Logging Frequency" then it will automatically be changed
from 'Never' to 'Short'. Those of you who have applications in which anyone
has ever changed this setting, it will stay exactly as it is (even if you
changed it to something else and then set it back to never). If you would
like access to the benefits that these logs will give, please check to make
sure that "Weekly Logging Frequency" is set to 'Short' on your app, and the
changes will take effect on your next deployment of the application (i.e.
you still have to re-install the application).

If for any reason, logging does not sound like a good idea to you, you
will have to go and manually set this setting back to 'Never', which we
don't recommend.

Thanks for you're time, and we hope you're all looking forward to the extra
certainty of data quality that these logs will help us provide.

Cheers,
Danny

Danny,

Since implementers will have to bear the cost of submitting the data to the server, it would be helpful to know the estimated size of these submissions. Is it proportional to the number of form submissions during the week? Crashes? etc.

Thanks,
Jon
