JSON error?

Hi,

I am working on two applications from Malawi (CSI and CIMCI). Last
week all was still working fine, but this morning I am receiving the
following message at login:

'DataTables warning: JSON data from server failed to load or be
parsed. This is most likely to be caused by a JSON formatting error.'

Although I can see the applications and different releases, as soon as
I try to open/edit a form of either of the applications, I get a blank
blue screen. A colleague in Tanzania seems to be able to access the
exact same forms though. I have tried different internet connections,
but that didn't make a difference.

Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem and how to solve
it?

Thanks!

Marije

Hi Marije,

When you say access the "same forms," Do you mean they are longed in to the
same exact domain as you and its working for them? What browser and version
are you running? What browser and version is your colleagues in TZ running?

I just tried to edit the sick child form in crs.csi and it appeared to work
fine for me: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/61136/crs.csi.png. i'm using chrome.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Yes, they logged into the crs.csi domain as well (not sure with which
browser and version, but I assume Google Chrome). I have tried both
with Google Chrome 12.0.742.100 as well as with Firefox 5.0 (on a
MacBook), both of which pop up with this JSON error, when I login and
give me the following screen whenever I try to access a form within
the application:
https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B6x5fzGkWt6GNzQ2ZmYyYzEtMDkyMS00MDRjLTgzMGEtNDY0YmI4NDBiNjJh&hl=en_US

As already mentioned, on Friday all was still working fine.

Best wishes,

Marije

Hi all,

We are getting this error consistently on multiple computers/browsers at the
d-tree office when clicking on an xform. The page will start to load, the HQ
header shows up, then the content section of the page just stays blue.
However, hitting refresh* does *seem to bring up the page and browsing to
other forms works fine.

Hi,

Jon, thanks for the suggestion of refreshing, which seems to work on
my side as well. I had been trying to 'refresh' through the URL bar
with a enter/return, but that doesn't do the trick, you really have to
use the refresh button of the browser for it to work.

Hey,

I was able to reproduce this once and then refreshing seemed to fix it
permanently. I think that your browser is likely caching a javascript file
that needs to be updated. I will create a support issue for this, since we
should be versioning those files. However, in the meantime I'd suggest
trying a refresh and then a hard refresh (ctrl-shift-R or ctrl-shift-F5) and
see if the problem goes away.

thanks for letting us know about the problem!
