HI Everyone,
I was just wondering if there is a way to change the colour of the text in
a label question so that it stands out a little more?
Kind regards,
Ameera

Ameera,
There currently is not. We're working on a special class of labels that
will improve visibility for certain classes of labels (things like danger
signs or emergency information), but in the mean time our best practice is
to use images
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Images+in+CommCare
with the appropriate colors to make it stand out.

Hi, Ameera,
You can also use hint text on CommCare for Android to make some text appear
smaller and italicized. You can see an example here:

HI Jeremy!
This should work well for now. Thank you!
Is it now possible to change text colour??
Hi,
CommCare clients support formatting text through the 'Markdown' language, which doesn't allow changing text color.
One potential approach is to use notification labels which provide a stronger notice to users to grab attention.

Any update on this for 2026? The PI I’m working with is pretty surprised this isn’t really an option (along with underlining).
Hi Andy,
Hope this message finds you well. My name is Shiv, and I am a CommCare Support Analyst at Dimagi.
As mentioned by Clayton, you can add notification labels in 3 different colours(Red, Yellow and Green). Here is the link to the documentation, which explains its implementation: https://dimagi.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/commcarepublic/pages/2143958327/Advanced+CommCare+Android+Formatting#Notification-Label
Kindly note that this can only be applied to label questions.
It is not possible to change the colour of the question text for other question types in the CommCare mobile application. CommCare supports basic text formatting in form labels and help text, such as bold, italics, strikethrough, and links using Markdown, but it does not allow you to set custom text colours.
You can also submit a feature request at our Product Roadmap portal: CommCare Roadmap - Generally Available Features | Roadmap portal
Let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks,
Shiv
