Incomplete Forms - Sorry unable to parse form

Hi

I have a number of incomplete forms that I am needing to capture. When I
try to open the forms it says "Sorry unable to parse form". I have tried a
number of fix attempts, reverting to a prior version to upload forms, and
details from here :
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/CommCare+for+Android+Force+Close+from+Loading+Incomplete+Forms
.

Is there anyway to read the contents of the saved incomplete file, possibly
by reading it out of the XML file itself and recapturing it on another app?

Does anyone have any further ideas? Thanks

Matthew,

There is no way to access the forms directly like this - the forms are
serialized before being written to the SD card and so can only be read back
by CommCareODK.

The two suggestions on that confluence page should work and have been used
to successfully recover the incomplete forms in every instance that I'm
aware of. I'd recommend retrying those steps as they're likely your best
bet for recovery. Also: are you sure you're reverting to the correct old
version? If you're confident that you're following the process correctly
and still getting an error, please report a bug following the template here
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Bug+Reports.

It also probably bears repeating to this group: we heavily recommend not
saving forms as incomplete for any long period of time or as part of your
workflow.

Best,
Will

Hi Will

Thanks for the response. Will follow up and repost via the email address.
My last few emails there have gone unanswered but will repost with the
template. I have tried the reverting to previous version but during the
course of testing the prior version may have been removed from the release
builder.

Thanks for the assistance.

Matt
