How to delete previous and useless data from "export form" menu?

Hello,

Are you talking about form submissions (you have old form submissions that
you don't care about) or fields in forms (there are old questions that got
deleted or you don't care about anymore when you download forms)?

If you have old form submissions here are some ideas:

  • you can use the date filter at the top of the Form Export page to
    download only new/recent form submissions
  • you can use the Saved Daily Exports if you are experiencing long
    processing times when downloading forms. You can do this by checking the
    "save this report daily?" box when you create or edit a custom export (see
    Form Data Export - CommCare Public - CommCare Public).
    This will allow you to directly download the file without waiting for
    processing (note that date filters to not apply to saved daily exports)
  • you can delete old users. NOTE: ONLY do this if you really want to
    delete all of the forms that a user ever submitted. This cannot be reversed.

If you want to get rid of certain fields then I recommend Lauren's approach
of using custom exports and removing the check mark for any questions you
don't want to include in your downloads.
