Get a list of projects a user is a part of

I was wondering if their is a way to extract the different projects a user
is a part of so that I can then extract their form data?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Agarten

It's not clear what you're asking. Mobile users are only ever part of a
single project. Web users can be part of multiple projects and that is
recorded in the internal data model. There is no way to get that
information about a web users externally.

Perhaps if you describe your problem in more detail we can help find a
solution.

Best regards

Hey Simon,

I am working for a nonprofit that uses CommCare among other data collection
applications regionally and we are developing a central data management
system. We would like to be able for users to sign in on our app and be
able to import their data. As far as I can tell at the moment, users would
have to provide a project name at the time of signing in order for us to
then import their data. I was wondering if after signing in to their
CommCare account users could then select which project to import their data
from.

Thanks,
Agarten

Hi Agareten,

Could you clarify exactly what you mean by "import their data"? Do you mean
each person will perform a case import
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Importing+Cases+Using+Excel?
Or something else?

If you want everyone to import their data to your own project space, then I
believe you would want to invite those people to register a user in your
project space
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/CommCareHQ+Web+Users#CommCareHQWebUsers-Add/inviteanewwebuser
and
give them the "Edit Data" permission so that they could perform the import
there.

Cheers,
Will

Hi Agarten

I assume you're trying to get data from our hosted CommCare (
https://www.commcarehq.org). We don't have a public API that includes the
info you're looking for.

@Simon_Kelly Is this available now? I would also like to get a list of projects a user is a part of, via api call. Thanks.

This is now available here. Thanks.
