Filter report by group

Hi How can I filter a report by a group? For example, I have 6 users (made
up of surgeons, nurses etc) all working in a camp together. They are in a
case sharing group. I want to set up a report to send them all the forms
they have completed but sort it by group. It needs to be a default filter
as I don't want them to be to change it - and most importantly not see any
of the reports sent in by other nurses/ surgeons etc.

thanks Nicola

Hi Nicola,

If your mobile workers are in a case sharing group you will need to add
them to a mobile worker group as described here
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Mobile+Worker+Groups.
Then when you configure your report, you can filter
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Report+Filters the
report by this group.

Best,
Kaley

Hi Yes I have done that but the report filter page says only certain
reports can be filtered and doesnt explain how to filter by a group.

This says only certain reports can be filtered:

The following reports have group support (and others are yet to come):

  • Case activity
  • Submissions by Form
  • Daily Form Submissions
  • Daily Form Completions
  • Form Completion Trends

I need to filter the results that are sent in but not by form - by case.
Can I filter these? If so, how do I do it? is it through the 'case owner'
and if so should there be a line for each case owner in the group? Or can I
enter the group name here?

My other option would be to use the excel export. But is there a way to
automatically arrange the columns in the way they are in the forms - i.e.
not in alphabetical order?

thanks Nicola

Hi Nicola,

Sorry for the delayed repsonse.

I need to filter the results that are sent in but not by form - by case.

Can I filter these? If so, how do I do it? is it through the 'case owner'
and if so should there be a line for each case owner in the group? Or can I
enter the group name here?

You should be able to filter the Case List report as well as Case Exports
by the group name.

Case List Report: You can filter your case list
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Data+Inspection under
Reports -- Inspect Data -- Case List and filtering by group, case type, and
whether the case is open/closed.

Case Data Export: You can set up your case data export
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Case+Data+Export
like normal under Data - Export Cases by selecting "Create New Export." You
are then able to configure your export (e.g. change name, change export
format, save as daily saved export, select/deselect questions to include)
and select "Save" at the bottom of the page.

The export will now be available on the Export Cases page and you can
select "Export" to then filter and export your data. It will ask you to
specify user types or group, and at at this point you can enter the mobile
worker group you have created.

My other option would be to use the excel export. But is there a way to

automatically arrange the columns in the way they are in the forms - i.e.
not in alphabetical order?

To my knowledge there is not a way to automatically arrange the columns,
although you are able to manually change their own by dragging/dropping
using the small arrow in the left-most column.

Hope this helps,
Kaley
