Easy way to translate output values into a different language?

I am currently working on an application that will function in two
different languages. I am wondering if there is a simple way to translate
output data. I'm providing the following label as an example:

"This contact's follow-up status is: . Confirm the TB
registration number."

Here I cannot translate the information that is being pulled from the code
(the highlighted portion). Is there a simple way to translate output
values, or would doing so involve creating new output values/hidden values,
etc?

Thanks!
Alex

Hi Alexandra,

Is the language you've translated to set to be the default language?

I'll let others chime in with other workarounds, but I believe the output
value should pull down the default translation.

My Best,
Claire

Hi Alexandra,

Unfortunately there isn't really a "simple" way to translate question
values since these are considered data rather than a translatable UI
element. There are a couple ways to do this, but as it seems you've
intuited they involve some separate hidden values and some light custom XML.

If you're interested in learning more, please email me directly (
wpride@dimagi.com) and I can outline the steps for you.

Cheers,
Will
