Difference between locations and primary location

In Organization settings of mobile worker, what is the difference between
locations and primary location?

Hi,

A mobile worker can be assigned to multiple locations (though we expect
that most projects will have their mobile workers assigned to just one
location).

If you have multiple locations assigned to a mobile worker, the primary
location represents the "main" location of the mobile worker - its the
location that appears in the bulk mobile worker upload / download (when
assigning a mobile worker to a location) and is also available inside the
form to reference and use.

But the worker cannot belong to different case sharing groups, right?

Hi,

If the user is in multiple case sharing groups, then you need to have the
application choose which case sharing group you want to assign the case
to. This can be done by following the instructions here:
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Assigning+cases+to+one+of+multiple+groups
