Difference between case properties when opening a child case and case properties on a normal form

Hi, everyone.

I still can't figure out the difference between case properties when opening a child case and case properties on a normal form. I have a form that opens a child case and in the case management there are 2 sections where I see save questions to case properties. one section before opening a child case and another section when opening a child case. I do not not if I've made myself understood.
