Database development companies with CommCare experience?

Hi all --

We are seeing increased need for more advanced analysis, calculations, and
visualizations to draw on the data collected from our CommCare apps.

We are looking at hiring a firm that will build a tool (or tools) for us to
create this. Whether it takes the data live from the CommCare API, or we
periodically upload CommCare data to an app, the system would perform a
real range of operations for various purposes -- real-time monitoring of
our health activities... calculating indicators... and re-aggregating forms
data into a different format so that it can be used in subsequent
applications such as RDSat/NetDraw, etc...

-- So, I am looking for recommendations for firms that are experienced,
skilled, and confident in this kind of database development for hire.

-- Naturally, a firm that is already familiar with CommCare and its related
structures would be that much more welcome.

-- In fact, ANY comments you might have on this endeavor is welcome --
cautionary tales, reminders, anything.

-- I'm open to the question of firms that are larger/pricier ... we can
decide what's too expensive when it comes to that.

-- Deep down, I sure like the idea of the firm being in Thailand where we
are located  But that's not likely I suppose. Relative proximity to SE
Asia would be handy. But again, not necessary.

Who have you hired? How did it go?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Eric

Hey Eric,

If you haven't already I'd recommend you (or whoever you hire) taking a
look at the data export tool
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/CommCare+Data+Export+Tool
as an option to get the data out of commcare and into an external DB. I
know people have had success using it to export to a SQL database and then
connecting that database to an external business intelligence / reporting
tool like Tableau, DHIS2, or PowerBI, ShinyApps, or to a custom software
solution/dashboard.

cheers,
Cory

Do you guys know of any firms or developers that might be good for this
kind of development?

Eric

Hi guys --

So there are no software developer firms that look through this forum, that
are hungry for work in making apps that gracefully read and process
CommCare data?
