Data import and export

Hi,

I was going through
URL CommCare Data Export Tool - CommCare Public - CommCare Public
for data export.

  1. How/where we mention that from which form this column will be fetch from
CommCare to excel? is this sheet name should be same as form name? When I
am exporting data I am getting "<map object at 0x043C5590>" in cell.
  2. Please share example for since_date filter and how since date can be
    configured to today date dynamically?
  3. Is there any provision where we can import data from excel to CommCare?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Hi Vipin,

Unless you need real time data exports, I would recommend using Export
Forms and Export Cases from CommCareHQ.

In response to your questions:

  1. To get data from a specific form, you need to setup the configuration
sheet and include the XMLNS of the form you want to download. You can find
the XMLNS by going to a form in CommCareHQ, choosing Edit Form, then
choosing Tools -> View Source XML. You will see a section in the XML
titled xmlns. Copy the text there (something like
    http://openrosa.org/formdesigner/45E2-F39393-38213). See Section C of
    the page you linked.
  2. For forms, you can add a filter that looks like received_on_start =
2015-01-01. I don't believe its possible to make this dynamically today.
  3. You can use the Import Cases from Excel feature to import data into
    CommCare (
Importing Cases Using Excel - CommCare Public - CommCare Public
    )

Thanks,
Sheel
