Cutomization of date picker

Hi all,

In the form builder, is there a way to customize the "date" question type
so that only month and year are displayed, with date suppressed? I am
trying to include a question that asks the month/year in which something
happened; the date is irrelevant, so including it is causing some confusion
for users.

To ask this from a different angle: Is there a way to format a question so
that (in CommCareODK) the answer choices appear as a wheel picker rather
than as a list of radio buttons?

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Here is a way to get close to what you are asking for:

Create a 2 separate questions: one "Month" question and one "Year"
question. Put them in a question list so that they appear on the same
screen. You can make them integer questions and use validation constraints
to restrict the input to valid months/years.

Or, to make a multiple choice question appear like a spinner instead of a
radio button, you can use advanced formatting. See documentation here:
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Advanced+CommCare+ODK+Formatting#AdvancedCommCareODKFormatting-SingleSelect"Dropdown"https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Advanced+CommCare+ODK+Formatting#AdvancedCommCareODKFormatting-SingleSelect

I hope this helps!

Hi Amelia,

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we're currently using your first suggestion,
and it's working okay.

I'll give the spinner a shot!

Thanks,
Scott
