access the restricted API"

Please help me. I am new to J2ME technology.

Is any Code singing key required execute J2ME application.
Thanks In Advance

Durga,

Depending on your device you may need to use a code signing certificate to
be able to access restricted API's. On Nokia phones you generally have
access to restricted API's under the "request permissions every time"
model, but users will often not be permitted to allow access without
prompting.

You can read more about code signing here:
http://developer.nokia.com/community/wiki/Verisign_signing_-_Java_ME

Thawte and Verisign can both issue code signing certificates that are
accepted on the majority of Nokia devices, you should check your device's
list of root Certificate Authorities to verify what organizations issue
certificates compatible with your device.

Dear Clayton,

Thanks for giving replay ,I hope you doing good.

For running source code in emulator also we need code signing certificate
?. If any free code singing key providers available for testing purpose
please let me know.

Thanks in Advance.

Most emulators do not require code signing certificates. Your emulator may
require you to set a "Security Profile", however, which outlines what
permissions the app is allowed to use.

Unfortunately there are no code signing providers which offer free services.

The instructions there should work without changes. Let me know if that
doesn't appear to be the case so we can update the documentation.

What error are you encountering specifically?

Note that CommCare is an application engine that requires a set of
configuration files, so the application as a standalone will not function.

Can I also ask what your long term goal for using the app is? CommCare is
available to customize and configure for free on our cloud hosting service
at http://www.commcarehq.org .
