CommCare 2.64 is now live on the PlayStore

Hi All,

We've started rolling out version 2.64.0 in the PlayStore. As usual we are only making it available to a small number of users at first, but will roll it out to everyone over the coming weeks.

Here are a few changes that can be expected:

Connect

What's New

  • Manage Profile: PersonalID users can now view and edit their profile (photo, name, email) from the sidebar

  • Email collection for PersonalID with OTP verification (new and existing users) • Smoother Connect app launch — no more login screen flash

  • Added ability to assign an OCS conversation as a Task

Enhancements

  • Improved GPS auto-capture to save the most accurate location

  • Smoother Connect App Launch

  • Deep links from Connect SMS route directly to opportunities in-app

  • Network Loading Bar

  • Offline Status and Last Synced Indicator in Error Bar

  • Minimum Android version for Connect & PersonalID raised to Android 9

  • Removed App Switching from the Side-bar - Redirecting users to the login page to change apps instead.

Important Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the back arrow on the camera capture screen so it correctly returns to the previous screen.

  • Fixed an issue where Connect messages opened from a notification could be viewed without completing the unlock prompt.

  • Fixed a crash caused by tapping a payment unit row more than once on the Connect delivery progress screen.

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when leaving a Connect opportunity's intro screen before its "Start Learning" request finished.

What's New

  • Added a guided face-capture screen for photo questions marked as face captures, with automatic capture when your face is centered, a manual fallback, and front/back camera switching.

Enhancements

  • Redesigned the audio recording question UI with clearer recording/paused states, a live timer, and an improved playback and delete experience.

  • Recording now starts immediately when you open the widget and saves immediately when you stop — no extra confirmation steps in between.

  • Added Save and Pause/Resume buttons to the recording notification, so you can control an in-progress recording without returning to the form.
