CHW terms of service

Hello all,

Has anyone ever drawn up Terms of Service agreements for CHWs to sign when
being handed over a phone? If so, please share.

Thanks,
Derek

Hey Derek,

I know Ken and Deborah in Dodoma have all their CHVs sign short contracts
when they distribute phones. I'm ccing them in here, maybe they can share
the document!

Ken and Debo: mambo vipi? I owe you an email---it's been way to long and
life is crazy. Can you help Derek out?

Thanks all,
Sarah

Hi guys

There are several template (contract versions) that has been used by
different organizations. Here is one of the draft of a contract that we
(D-tree International) drafted with one of our partner organizations.

I should say a word of caution that, it is very difficult to use the same
contract across two or more different organizations. Even thought all could
work with volunteers but I found an interesting differences across
organizations in terms of the principles, code of conduct, agreements
between the organizations and volunteers, things such as model of
incentives, amount, the time they are suppose to volunteer etc.

(volunteers) by asking questions, how would they make sure each CHW is
accountable to the phones. Most of the time they will come up with something
worth than what you have in your draft of a contract. Then find a better way
of in cooperating their ideas into it, and trust me! they will follow and be
accountable to it knowing in their mind that, they are the one who came out
with that agreement.

Thanks Gayo, and this is a great point! If possible, I think it would
make a lot of sense to spend some time with each group of ASHAs we are
working with in India to design the contract. take care, n

Hi all, here's a version that D-Tree / CARE India used in Bihar for ANMs,
ASHAs, and AWWs. Both English and Hindi versions attached. We kept
intentionally simple.

One thing to keep in mind in India, we had to verify all the health workers'
identities to keep the SIM cards activated, since the government is cracking
down on cell providers to disable all SIM cards without it.

Hope this helps...
