Child cases -- newly created cases not appearing forms data export

Hi all -- I am trying to become skilled at creating child cases.

-- I made an app called "outreach," which has three forms: outreach
registration, outreach followup, and outreach case closing. Of course,
these use case management and functions on those three forms should be
pretty clear from the names.

-- I wanted to create a system so that during a patient's followup visit,
the follow-up form could create a new referral record, by creating a new
child case over in a different module. I called this other module
"referrals module," and the form in that module is called "referral form."
SO, in case management for the followup form, I did what you can see in the
attached screenshot -- had it create a child case, IF the user had said
"yes" to a question asking if they did want to create a referral. I had
it so that two of the fields in the follow up form -- NAME and a list of
the patient's symptoms, which are stored in a multiple-answer field, are
handed off to the newly created referral record over in its module.

-- It seems to work OK. When I have the follow up form create referrals
this way, they do seem to be created, because if I navigate in the phone
app to look over in the new referrals form, I do see the new records with
the correct data appearing there.

-- SOOOO, my only question is this -- when I go to export the form data,
over in CommCare's DATA section... I want to run an export so I can see
that great data that seems to be in the new Referral form... but it says
there are *zero *records and I can't export them! I am also attaching a
screenshot of that also.

Can you tell me why this SEEMS to be creating records okay, but those
records don't appear over in form data export? Note that I have the four
green tabs to make sure all user types are allowed -- mobile worker, demo
user, admin, unknown, etc...

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the clear explanation! Have you completed any referral forms, or
simply created child case referrals and viewed them in the referrals module?

In CommCare there are two ways to look at the data: cases and forms. Your
screenshot shows you are looking at the form export page. If you fill out a
registration form, or a followup form, or a referral form, etc, the form
submissions will appear here.

However, when you create a child case, the case data will show up on the
case export page. Navigate here to see your referrals cases.

appearing on the export page, please use the "Report an Issue" button to
let us know.
