Cases - Parent > Child > GrandChild from one form and from many

Hi,

I am having some fun with multiple tiers of cases.

  1. Using a form in a module to create a new case in another module. This
successfully creates the case in the correct hierarchy i.e. Parent > Child

GrandChild

  1. Using one form with repeat groups, to open multiple cases under the
repeats creates the cases but in the form Parent > Child, Parent >
    Grandchild etc.

Is there away of creating the correct hierarchy from one form?

Much thanks in advance

Tim

Hey Tim,

Unfortunately its not possible to create the Parent -> Child -> Grand Child
hierarchy in a single form - its something we do want to support in the
future though! What's the use case for this configuration?

Thanks,
Sheel

Hi Sheel,

We offer a survey type app. Company > Location > Level > Room > Capture
data - this is a repetitive process and can be done pre-site visit hence
one form to fill would speed up the process no end.

Hey Tim,

Thanks for the info - unfortunately its not currently possible, so you'd
have to create an idea on our Uservoice (dimagi.uservoice.com).

Are you using Parent Case List filtering (choosing a parent case, then
filtering the case list to children of that parent). That might help in
this situation with at least navigating to and creating more children.

Hi Sheel,

Thanks for this.

I am using Parent child navigation and it is working well.

I will go to user voice.

Best
