Case Sharing - owner id not assigned to group?

Hi all,

I've got a question about case sharing in our app. I've put 5 CHWs into a
group called Lebanon, and turned on case sharing for the application and
for the Group. The CHWs are in one group only. However when I create a new
case, it is still assigned to that individual CHW rather than the group (as
I can see by the owner-id field). But the weird thing is that some of the
test cases I created a long time ago did get assigned to that group and do
show up as shared on other CHW accounts. Am I missing something? I know I
could reassign the cases in Edit Data, but I want it to work automatically
going forward.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Couple of ideas for why this might not be working:

  • The users who are creating the cases are using an older version of the
app that doesn't have the case sharing flag turned on
  • The users who are creating the cases may not have synced their phone

If neither of these are the issue, can you go to your project space, find
the form or case that is not working correctly and then Report an Issue
from that page? (The Report an Issue button is under the question mark at
the top of the screen)

Thanks,
Sheel

Hi Sheel,

At this point, I'm running a test version of our app on 3 devices, which I
installed simultaneously and have updated to the same version. I've also
sync'ed the devices several times in the attempts to get this working.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll report from the project page.

Solved the problem by copying the app, creating a new group, and new users.
Not sure why the other group wasn't working.
