Hi All,
I tried to upload a bulk translation excel file that I had earlier sent to
colleagues of mine for translation but got several errors because there's
been some significant changes to the application since the time I
downloaded the app file.
It skipped my mind that I had to re-download the bulk translation
spreadsheet. I just used the same file that I sent them. Now, the
structure.arrangement of the forms has changed and some have been
overridden on HQ. Good thing is that I haven't updated CommCare on the
tablets.
I am worried that the next time I need to make a change, the app will be
messed up on the tablet (form names, structure/arrangement). Is it possible
to revert the app's structure back to the previous version and then
re-download the bulk translations file from the most current version of the
app (not the messed one)?
I will be happy to hear that this is possible!
Thanks,
James
Hi James,
Do you have a previous version of the application listed in the Deploy
section (where it lets you build a new version). You can use that to
revert back to an older version:
- Important: Make a build of the current version of the application
(so you can come back to it if needed)
- Find an older good version of the application in the list and click
on the Revert button. This will roll back the application to how it was
for that version.
- Make any changes/download the translations file
- Then use the application version list again to revert back to a newer
version.
Thanks,
Sheel

Thanks, Sheel. This worked well. Quite an easy thing to do.

Hi Sheel,
Will deleting this unwanted app version be of any harm? I want to re-upload
the bulk translation file after downloading from the clean app.
Thanks,
James

Hey James,
Shouldn't cause any harm - you can just delete the version (don't delete
your entire application).
Thanks,
Sheel

Great! Just clicking the small "x" next to the app version, right?
