[announce] new feature: saved exports

Hi users,

I just wanted to announce a new feature that some of you may be interested
in: saved excel/csv exports. These allow you to save columns you care about
in a format you choose and export your data in this format (instead of the
ugly huge form dump that was the only previous option).

To try them out, go to the reports section, choose the “export submissions
to excel” report, and click “create custom export” on any form.

Currently they will only work on top level data (not repeats) and you can
only configure a single form per export. We’re continuing to make
improvements to the CommCare experience all the time and, as always, your
feedback is much appreciated.

If you have any problems with this (or any other) feature, please let us
know on the mailing list, or by submitting a support request to
commcarehq-support@dimagi.com

thanks,
Cory

Hi everyone,

Per request from some of our users this feature (and all excel exports) are
now configured to not include duplicate submissions or forms that CommCareHQ
had trouble processing.

If you want the full data dump (previous behavior) you should add
"&include_errors=True" to the end of the download URL. We will work to make
this (and other export configurations) a more friendly experience
eventually.

Advanced users can try some of the other options for different export
formats and checkpointed exports (these are still in beta) using the API
Documentation [1].
