Android phone in Bangladesh

I'm looking for guidance on what phone would be best to purchase for
commcare use in Bangladesh.

In addition to checking off all the boxes on Commcare's Android Phone
Checklist (here
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Selecting+an+Android+Phone+or+Tablet),
we want to be absolutely sure it meets these requirements:

  • Localization for Bengali (write/display script in Bengali)
  • GPS capabilities
  • Multimedia capture and compatible with Commcare's multimedia capture
(commcare crashes on my android nexus every time I try to access the camera)
  • Support SD cards for data storage
  • Decent battery life would be good, but we can always get extra
    batteries if absolutely necessary
  • Geocoding photos (not required, but nice to have)

Would love some recommendations from the community!

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

One of our partners has used Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Duos SM G361H for
CommCare implementation in Bangladesh. The phone model should meet most of
your requirements, though not sure if it's still readily available in the
market.

Thanks, Vish
