Adding media to android tablet

Hi there,

I'm using Samsung Galaxy Tablet 7.0plus running Android 2.3. I've
successfully installed the custom version of ODK and CommCare ODK. I've
also downloaded and installed a version of CommCare-ASHA and copied the
media files in. Everything works fine except none of the audio plays (in
either english or hindi). How do i go about troubleshooting this?

Jon

Hi Jon,

Where are you storing the media files?

The files are in:

/Root/odk/CommCare/media/audio
/Root/odk/CommCare/media/images

Jon,

(Assuming that we're discussing CommCare ODK 1.3, no need to confirm if so)

CommCare 1.3 should translate

jr://file/FOO

to

/sdcard/odk/FOO

the "/root/" there might be the problem. Is there no "sdcard" directory on
that device?

There's a /extStorages/SdCard directory. It's reserved as the mount location when plugging in a MicroSD card (so read only).

No SdCard directory otherwise. Should I just try creating?

Well, for whatever reason, the galaxy tablet's directory structure is different than normal, but just for fun I copied everything into the directory structure you recommended and the audio worked just fine! Very strange that the images worked even before recreating the dir structure while the audio did not.

Thanks for the help.

No problem,

Sorry about the confusion. This is one of the things we're aiming to make
much, much more clear in the next release.
