Accessing Data from the SD Card Dump

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what format the data is in when you
do an SD card dump, and if there is any way to access that data other than
through the CommCare app.

Essentially we are using a CommCare application on Android tablets for data
collection for a study, often in areas with poor or no internet connection.
Ideally, we would like to be able to create a predefined report that we can
produce immediately after conducting our assessments so we can give the
participants feedback right away, instead of having to leave and send our
report later.

If we had good connectivity we could potentially upload the data, do an
export, and use that, but that might be a more lengthy process and probably
not at all feasible in the areas we are working in. So if there is a way to
get the data from the application in another usable format on the tablet,
that would be ideal.

Any information on the SD card dump or other ideas would be very helpful
and appreciated!

Thank you,
Christine

Hi Christine,

Did you ever get any answer or figure this out? I was about to experiment
with ODK Briefcase as a solution. Wanted to know if anyone else has done
anything with that.

Hey all,

I've responded to Christine and David offline since this topic is outside
the the general CommCare use case.

Thanks,
Will

And it was a beautiful response full of wisdom and hope.

Or at least full of potential parsing.
