Access to the commcare-user data model

we have created Custom user properties for database users, but CommCare doesn't seem to let us access them:

Normally, a request of type instance(commcaresession)/session/user/data or a simple #user/ reference should allow to reference custom user properties.

Any idea ???

Does it work as expected with the full instance('commcaresession')/... format?

Can you paste the full expression that is erroring?
