Using two application at the same time on phone

Dear Users.

Is it possible to use, two different application at the same, time,
Thanks
Regards

··· -- Manoj

Hi Manoj,

For Java Phones, it is possible to put two different applications on the
phone at the same time. You can put the application in different folders
on either the SD card or the phone's internal memory.

For Android, we don't currently support multiple applications.

Why do you need two applications on the phone? Is it not possible to
combine the two applications into one application?

I have android phone,
I have installed Commcare ODK

Now for the first time, if I have an application to work, I need to deploy
the application and need to scan the barcode for that application.
Each time, I open commcare, it will open this application only,

If I want to use, another application, I need to clear data, and then scan
barcode for another application.

Do you have better idea.
thanks a lot

Hi Manoj,

Yes, that's correct. To switch applications, you need to clear data.

I agree its a bit cumbersome when building applications, but for the actual
users of the system, we expect very few will need multiple applications on
their phone.

Manoj,

To clarify a bit further: Supporting multiple applications is something
that we think we will be adding to the CommCare ODK application at some
point in the future, but can't yet offer a timeline on when it will make it
in.
